Our Story

hello! I'm Sofia, founder of  The Arthouse.​

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always loved creating arts and fashion, and it has been my dream to create something of mine that last and could be shared to the world!

The idea of starting a brand has been on my mind for quite a while, and earlier this year, during my trip to Perth, I was inspired that this was the year I’m going to create my brand. So I started planning, designing, reaching out to manufacturers, sewing, making prototypes, creating the website and etc.​

In all honesty, becoming a handmade brand, wasn't our original plan, all I knew was that i wanted my designs to be ethnically made with sustainability in mind. But after months of working with factories, trying to create a perfect sample, I realize they just couldn’t bring my designs to life in the way I wanted.

I want people to feel special, unique, expressive, comfortable & confident when they’re wearing my brand. So I took matters into my own hands and decided to go handmade. I’ve never, in my million thoughts, have ever think that I have the ability to hand-make every single orders. But I wanted my products to be true to my heart, sustainable, and made with love. So i went for it, improved my sewing skills, and I think this is the best decision I've made for The Arthouse, because I feel so much connected to my work & you guys now, and I hope The Arthouse makes all of you feel special too!​
